A Message From Our President

Hello Harpists!

Summer music camps are in full swing with many of our members participating in some of the wonderful programs that Houston has to offer: Fort Bend ISD’s Orchestra Camp, Klein ISD’s All-State Clinic, AFA Summer Music Festival, and the Houston Summer Harp Festival. I hope that these camp experiences will translate into even more enthusiasm for the year-round programming that our chapter and its members have to offer; such as signing up to participate in the Houston Youth Harp Ensemble (see registration details below).  Last but not least, be sure to tag the GHC’s Instagram page when you post your summer camp and performance photos @ghcharpsociety, we’d love to see what you’re up to this July

Houston Youth Summer Festival
HSHF’s Virtual Festival registration is now open!
The camp runs from July 25-27th and is open to ages 11-Adult.

Enjoy workshops, masterclasses, private lessons, all from the comfort of your home!

Houston Youth Harp Ensemble
Registration is now open for the Houston Youth Harp Ensemble!  Be sure to sign up before July 15th to get the Early Bird Discount.

The HYHE was launched as a way for school-aged harpists in the Houston area to grow musically and connect with harp students throughout the city.  Visit our website to learn more about the ensemble, or reach out to us at houstonyouthharpensemble@gmail.com.

Harp and Stories with Hope Cowan
Join harpist (and GHC Webmaster) Hope Cowan for harp and storytelling at the Maud Marks Library on July 25th at 1:30pm!

Hope will lead an interactive performance about storytelling for children ages 5 and up at the Maud Marks Library in Katy. Information can be found here.
